ModTech 2021 International Conference - Brief Overview
The ModTech Professional Association, as main organizer together with “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi and Constanta Maritime University, organized the 9th online edition of the ModTech2021 International Conference, between 23 and 26 June 2021. Other prestigious institutions, from Romania and abroad, such as the Society of Powder Technology of Japan, Silesian University of Technology of Gliwice, Poland, “Alecu Russo” University of Balti, Republic of Moldova, Technical Sciences Academy of Romania, "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu, "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, "Stefan cel Mare" University of Suceava and The General Association of the Engineers in Romania (AGIR) were also co-organizers. The ModTech Professional Association currently has more than 400 members from Romania and abroad and 13 branches in Australia, Greece, Spain, Malaysia, India, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Iraq, Poland, Turkey, Serbia, and Republic of Moldova.
The ModTech2021 International Conference was also online this year because of Covid-19: meeting restrictions. The online platform for the activities of the conference had all the stages. To familiarize participants with how to operate on this platform was developed and submitted in pdf format - ModTech2021_Online_User_Guide.
The participants of the 9th edition were from 25 countries. The ModTech2021 International Conference got together 155 specialists in the field of modern material manufacture and processing technologies both from Romania and from other world countries with interesting presentations about the latest information on the research topics tackled by the conference.
The Octavian Pruteanu excellence award was awarded during the opening ceremony to Prof. Maria Eugenia Rabanal Jimenez, Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain, Prof. Makio Naito, Osaka University, Japan and Prof. Mohd Khairol Anuar Mohd Ariffin, Putra University, Malaysia.
The papers presented by the participants both during the three plenary sessions and in the different sections tackled the following topics: manufacturing process engineering; breakthroughs concerning composite materials and technologies; mechanical process characterization, modeling and simulation; integrated manufacture and robotics; technology transfer; micro and nanotechnologies; maritime engineering.
The papers presented during the ModTech2021 conference will the published in the International Journal of Modern Manufacturing Technologies and IOP Conference Series - Materials Science and Engineering, Great Britain.
