ModTech 2022 International Conference - Brief Overview
The ModTech Professional Association organized the 10th edition of the ModTech2022 International Conference, as hybrid one, between June 22-25, Ramada by Wyndham Hotel, Mamaia, Romania.
The Co-Organizers of the ModTech2022 International Conference, mentioned on the official website, were involved in the organization of this edition, which was intended to be a first step towards the return to normality, that is, an intermediate step towards the return to the onsite organization of the next edition.
The ModTech Professional Association currently has more than 400 members from Romania and abroad and 13 branches in Australia, Greece, Spain, Malaysia, India, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Iraq, Poland, Turkey, Serbia, and Republic of Moldova.
The ModTech2022 International Conference had a hybrid form due to both the still existence of the pandemic and the existing regional context. For the authors who preferred to present their papers online, the existing online platform was used and to familiarize participants with how to operate on this platform was developed and submitted in pdf format - ModTech2022_Online_User_Guide. The onsite and online participants of the 10th edition were from 23 countries.
The Octavian Pruteanu excellence award was awarded during the opening ceremony to Prof. Marek Placzek, Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland and Prof.Viorel Paunoiu, Dunarea de Jos University of Galati, Romania.
For the first time, the following awards were given by ModTech Professional Association as follows:
-Best Book: S.M. Sapuan, R.A. Ilyas, M.R.M. Asyraf, University Putra, Malaysia, Safety and Health in Composite Industry, Springer, 2022
-Best Scientific Article: Laura Pena-Paras et al., University of Monterrey, Engineering Department, Mexico, Enhancing tool life and reducing power consumption and surface roughness in milling processes by nanolubricants and laser surface texturing, Journal of Cleaner Production, Elsevier, 2019
-Most Performing Young Researcher: Bogdan Istrate, “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, Romania
The papers presented by the participants both during the two plenary sessions and in the different sections tackled the following topics: manufacturing process engineering; breakthroughs concerning composite materials and technologies; mechanical process characterization, modeling and simulation; integrated manufacture and robotics; technology transfer; micro and nanotechnologies; maritime engineering.
