ModTech 2018 International Conference - Brief Overview
The ModTech Professional Association in cooperation with “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi and Constanta Maritime University as the host institution organized the 6th edition of the ModTech2018 International Conference, in the Complex Bulevard Hotel in Constanta, between 13 and 16 June 2018. Other prestigious institutions, from Romania and abroad, such as the Society of Powder Technology of Japan, the Silesian University of Technology of Gliwice, Poland, “Alecu Russo” University of Balti, the Republic of Moldova, "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu, "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, "Stefan cel Mare" University of Suceava and The General Association of the Engineers in Romania (AGIR) were also at our side as co-organizers. The ModTech Professional Association currently has 300 members from Romania and abroad and 6 subsidiaries in South Korea, Iraq, Poland, Turkey, Serbia, and Republic of Moldova.
The authors and co-authors of the 6th edition were from 19 countries and the participants from 15 countries such as USA, Japan, South Korea, India, Germany, Poland, Serbia, Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Croatia, Romania, Albania, Mexic, Algeria.
The ModTech2018 conference got together 145 specialists in the field of modern material manufacture and processing technologies both from Romania and from other world countries with interesting presentations about the latest information on the research topics tackled by the conference. On the first day of the conference, the participants visited a few laboratories of Constanta Maritime University of Constanta.
The Octavian Pruteanu award of excellence were awarded during the opening ceremony to Professor Jun Ni, University of Michigan, USA, Professor Demofilo Maldonado Cortes, University of Monterrey, Mexic and Professor Emil Oanta, Constanta Maritime University, Romania.
The papers presented by the participants both during the three plenary sessions and in the different sections tackled the following topics: manufacturing process engineering; breakthroughs concerning composite materials and technologies; mechanical process characterization, modeling and simulation; integrated manufacture and robotics; technology transfer; micro and nanotechnologies; maritime engineering.
The papers presented during the ModTech2018 conference will the published in the International Journal of Modern Manufacturing Technologies and IOP Conference Series - Materials Science and Engineering, Great Britain.
