ModTech 2024 International Conference - Brief Overview
The Universiti Putra Malaysia, ModTech Professional Association and Technical Sciences Academy of Romania organized the 12th edition of the ModTech2024 International Conference, as hybrid one, between June 24-27, The Everly Hotel, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The ModTech Professional Association currently has more than 420 members from Romania and abroad and 13 branches in Australia, Greece, Spain, Malaysia, India, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Iraq, Poland, Turkey, Serbia, and Republic of Moldova.
The ModTech2024 International Conference had a hybrid form due to the many request worldwide. For the authors who preferred to present their papers online, the existing online platform was used and to familiarize participants with how to operate on this platform was developed and submitted in pdf format - ModTech2024_Online_User_Guide. The onsite and online participants of the 12th edition were from 20 countries.
We had the great honour to welcome the Ambassador of Romania to Malaysia, Mrs. ES Nineta Barbulescu, together with Mr. Dan Bărbulescu, at the award ceremony of the best scientific results of the ModTech2024 International Conference. In this framework, Ambassador ES Nineta Barbulescu presented the importance of the year 2024 (55 years since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations) and the significance of the field of bilateral academic cooperation, one of the most dynamic in the economy of bilateral relations. She also presented some unexpected similarities between the Romanian civilization and aspects of Malaysian culture and civilization, sincerely congratulated the Romanian team for the results of the conference and thanked for the participation of the Romanian representatives on Monday, 24 June 2024, at the opening of the Romanian Art and Civilization Exhibition #55 (organized by the Romanian Embassy to the Parliament of Malaysia from 24 June to 18 July 2024, to mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations).
The Octavian Pruteanu excellence award was awarded during the opening ceremony to Prof. Esteban Broitman, SKF Netherland.
For the third time, the following awards were given by ModTech Professional Association as follows::
-Best Scientific Article: Witold Janik et al., Novel tribological test rig prototype and primary results of experiments for additively manufactured test samples, Wear, volume 532-533, 2023, Elsevier;
-Most Performing Young Researcher: Ashish R. Prajapati, S.V. National Institute of Technology, Surat, Gujarat, India;
-Best Book: The books received did not pass the judging committee this year
The papers presented by the participants both during the two plenary sessions and in the different sections tackled the following topics: manufacturing process engineering; breakthroughs concerning composite materials and technologies; mechanical process characterization, modeling and simulation; integrated manufacture and robotics; technology transfer; micro and nanotechnologies; maritime engineering.
