ModTech 2019 International Conference - Brief Overview
The 7th edition of ModTech International Conference, June 19th-22nd, Ramada Hotel, Iasi, Romania, was organized by ModTech Professional Association and “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi as the main co-organizer.
At this edition the other co-organizers were as follows: Technical Sciences Academy of Romania; The Society of Powder Technology of Japan; Silesian University of Technology of Gliwice, Poland; “Alecu Russo” University of Balti, Republic of Moldova; Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Republic of Moldova; “Vasile Alecsandri” University of Bacau, Romania; "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, Romania; "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu, Romania; "Stefan cel Mare" University of Suceava, Romania; The General Association of the Engineers in Romania and Constanta Maritime University, Romania.
The ModTech Professional Association currently has 355 members from Romania and abroad and 9 branches in Japan, Mexico, India, South Korea, Iraq, Poland, Turkey, Serbia, and Republic of Moldova.
The participants of the 7th edition were from 23 countries such as: Japan, India, Germany, France, Poland, Serbia, Republic of Moldova, Netherlands, Croatia, Romania, Mexico, Italy, Ireland, United Kingdom, Australia, Greece, Turkey, Malaysia, Czech Republic, Iraq, Iran, Spain and Russia.
The ModTech2019 conference got together 151 specialists in the field of modern material manufacture and processing technologies both from Romania and from other countries with interesting presentations about the latest information on the research topics tackled by the conference.
The Octavian Pruteanu award of excellence was awarded during the opening ceremony to Professor Fabrizio Quadrini, “Tor Vergata” University of Rome, Italy, Professor Zhengyi Jiang, University of Wollongong, Australia and Professor Dan Cascaval, “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, Romania.
The papers presented by the participants both during the three plenary sessions and in the different sections tackled the following topics: manufacturing process engineering; breakthroughs concerning composite materials and technologies; mechanical process characterization, modeling and simulation; integrated manufacture and robotics; technology transfer; micro and nanotechnologies; maritime engineering.
